Strengths: Light weight, very portable, very sharp display, good battery life.
Weaknesses:I am somewhat disappointed with the speed of the Inspiron Mini 9. It is slower that what I had expected since it has a solid state hard drive. I opted for the 16 GB SSD and find that the amount of time for the Mini 9 to boot up or to open a program is no faster than a mechanical laptop drive. Also, the fact that the Mini 9 does not have function keys is a disappointment.
Overall Evaluation: Overall, I consider the Mini 9 to be a competent laptop for what it was designed to do. I believe that a potential purchaser should research other netbooks in addition to the Mini 9 if something more that e-mailing, web surfing, or word processing are desired.
